Wreck of B24-J Liberator Bomber Milady
On 17 January 1945, USAAF B-24J-15-CO LIberator, #42-73134 "Milady", of the 531st Bombardment Squadron of the 380th Bombardment Group crashed after take-off on the Cox Peninsula west of Darwin in the Northern Territory. All of the crew were killed in this tragic accident.
The site about 8 km along a bitumen road from Wagait Beach and then a further 1 km along a bush track.

Mandorah Jetty & Boat Ramp
Wagait beach is approximately 1.5hr drive from Darwin city or catch the SeaLink Ferry from Cullen Bay for the 15 minute cruise to Mandorah Jetty. Bring your boat and launch at the boat ramp next to the jetty. Mandorah Jetty is a popular fishing destination. The jetty extends into the harbour and is known for everything from Barra to Shark. At Wagait Beach you can fish from the beaches or several rock bars, and small freshwater creeks along the coastline are also popular fishing sites.
